Personal Service and Why Family Matters at North Texas Marine

The world has changed a lot since 1954.

It was a time when the world felt a little slower-paced. Everyone was home for dinner, and Saturday afternoons with the family were a treasured part of the weekly routine.

It was also the year our Texas boat business was founded. And as a result, those beloved traditions and old-fashioned values became the core of what we do.

Our boat company (and family) history

The patriarch of our family, R.F. Wallace, served in the United States Army during World War II and was stationed at Camp Howze right here in Gainesville. After completing his service, he worked in the heating and air conditioning appliance business — but quickly recognized a need for something else: fishing equipment.

“Fishing Lake Texoma was a popular thing,” says our current owner, Joe Wallace.

R.F. started selling bait, fuel, and fishing equipment out of a small shop in town. Soon the business expanded to include boats and small outboard engines. His son, Joe (quoted above), joined the business in the 1970s, and became the sole owner in 1986. The cycle continued when his sons became part of the business too.

Today, Joe’s son, Brian, manages the Gainesville store. Joe’s other son, Brad, manages the Fort Worth location that was established in 2001.

“So it’s a family affair,” says Joe.

We treat you like family with old-fashioned values

As a Texas boat dealer, the term “family business” means more to us than the relationships of our managers and staff. It means our family values translate into the service we offer. Every person who walks through the door at our Fort Worth and Gainesville marine shops is treated like family.

Over the years, North Texas Marine has become a respected boat dealer in Texas, receiving awards from our manufacturers for top-quality service.

Why is our boat service a step above the rest?

Our goal isn’t to sell you the most expensive boat or to make a sale as quickly as possible. Rather, we’re determined to find you a boat that fits your lifestyle and helps you create family memories on the water.

Our motto has always been, “Bringing families together since 1954.”

Since 1954, life has become a little more complicated, and families have been through a lot. But those old-fashioned values haven’t been lost. Saturday afternoons on the water are a treasured tradition that helps keep those values alive.

The North Texas Marine family is here to help you make boating memories with your “crew” for years to come.

Personal service, from our family to yours

There’s a reason why many prefer our smaller, family-run business to marine super stores.

When you enter either of our locations, more likely than not, you’ll be interacting with a member of the Wallace family. The people managing our business are working on the floor and are available to speak with you.

As Joe Wallace says, “There’s seldom a customer that leaves a boat here or picks up a boat here that I don’t have personal contact [with].”

Upon your first visit, you’re treated like family. And it doesn’t end there: when you purchase a boat with us, you’ll get quality boat service and support throughout the life cycle of your boat. We pride ourselves on maintaining relationships with our customers to best meet their needs, so they can enjoy the water. After all, having fun with your crew is what it’s all about!
